As the global concern about the current COVID-19 outbreak grows, Akina Mama wa Afrika is from Monday 23rd March 2020 to 20th April 2020 implementing a preventative social distance plan and will keep offices closed in line with the Government of Uganda Advisory. In an effort to cut down on human-to-human contact, all visitors have been temporarily banned, all in-person meetings have been cancelled and all activities postponed. Our staff are working remotely to continue amplifying African women’s voices.
We continue to stand in solidarity with African citizens and the world in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus recognizing that the marginalized in our communities will be disproportionately impacted by this situation.
