LAUNCH OF THE INTERSECTIONAL FEMINIST CLIMATE ACTION GUIDE: Amplifying Voices, Reimagining Climate Action

The current climate crisis that we are contending with, is the legacy of a neoliberal, colonial, capitalist, and patriarchal system. These systems have created power dynamics and structures that have influenced the distribution of wealth and resources. Notably  Particularly, in the Global South, the ways in which economic crisis, gender disparity, and climate crisis intersect continue to dictate the climate future for African peoples especially women, girls, and gender-expansive persons. Upon these grounds, Akina Mama wa Afrika under the auspices of Voices for Just Climate Action has prepared an Intersectional Feminist Climate Justice Guide.

This guide is intended to provide a framework for how civil society, feminists, women’s rights organizations, and environment and climate justice advocates can integrate intersectional feminist approaches in climate justice work. The Feminist Intersectional Climate Justice Guide will be launched under the theme “Amplifying unusual voices, Reimagining climate action.”
