Sunshine Fionah Komusana- Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Associate

Sunshine Fionah Komusana (she/her) is an Afrikan Feminist, lawyer, award-winning blogger, and researcher. She is the Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Program Associate at Akina Mama wa Afrika- a Pan-African Feminist Leadership Development Organization based in Kampala Uganda.

She has experience providing legal aid services, connecting survivors of violence to legal support, therapy services, and shelters, doing advocacy work, writing, and research. She has done research on sexual harassment in the workplace, reviewed legislation on the Employment (Sexual Harassment) Regulations, and The Domestic Violence Act, and developed policy briefs on feminist approaches to sexual reproductive and rights issues like sex work and access to medicines and commodities.

She is the winner of the World Bank Blogs for Development Contest, 2016, and an alumna of The African Women’s Leadership Institute (AWLI) and The African Feminist Macroeconomic Academy.

She is also contributing writer to feminist platforms; African Feminism and Lakwena.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Uganda Christian University (UCU)-Mukono and a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre- Kampala.
