Job Title: Country Programme Liaison

Organization: Akina Mama wa Afrika

Contract Terms: Full Time 

Reports to: Head of Programmes 

Duty Station: Ethiopia 

Role Summary:

The Country Programme Liaison (CPL) will provide strategic leadership and oversight to AMwA’s work in Ethiopia specifically across the two programme areas of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights, and Women’s Political Leadership. The CPL ensures quality of programme implementation and nurtures critical relationships necessary for the success of the organization’s work. The CPL will serve as ears and eyes on the ground; taking note of emerging trends in socio-economic and political landscape, identifying advocacy opportunities and representing the organization in key national, regional and global policy processes and spaces, continuously updating the organization on these processes including monitoring and assessing risks. They will provide political, socio-economic and contextualized expertise and knowledge in relevant areas, help grow AMwA’s networks, and take lead in conceptualizing and implementing strategic activities.

Job Title: Acting Programme Officer– Women’s Political Leadership (Maternity Leave Relief)

Organization: Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA)

Department: Women’s Political Leadership Programme

Contract Terms: Full Time for Six Months

Ideal Start Period: June, 2022

Reports to: Women’s Political Leadership Lead

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda 

Role Summary:

The Acting Programme Officer—Women’s Political Leadership serves in a reliever capacity as the substantive Programme Officer goes on maternity leave. They contribute to AMwA’s Women’s Political Leadership work through nurturing feminist leadership to ensure the advancement of a Pan-African feminist agenda advanced in political and decision-making spaces.

Contract Terms: Full Time for 6 Months

Reports to: WPL Programme Lead 

Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda 

Role Summary:

In a bid to ensure sustainable achievement of our vision, Akina Mama wa Afrika seeks to add to her team a competent, proactive, self-driven and bold feminist intern in the WPL Programme. The WPL Intern will support the WPL team in executing all programmatic activities.

Department: Economic Justice and Climate Action (EJCA) Programme

Reports to: Economic Justice and Climate Action Lead

Contract Terms: Full Time 

Duty Station: Zambia

Role Summary:

The Programme Associate, Economic Justice and Climate Action will support with implementing the EJCA programme across multiple outcome areas, with a particular focus on
the climate justice component in Zambia. They will work closely with AMwA partners in Zambia and coordinate interventions at the national level.

Job Title: Project Liaison for the Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) Project – Tunisia

Organization: Akina Mama wa Afrika (AMwA)

Department: Economic Justice and Climate Action (EJCA) Programme 

Contract Terms: Part-time Consultancy for One Year

Reports to: Economic Justice and Climate Action Officer

Duty Station: Tunisia

Role Summary:

Akina Mama wa Afrika seeks to add to her team a competent, results-driven, proactive, and self-driven Project Liaison (PL) for the Voices for Just Climate Action (VCA) Programme in Tunisia. The PL is a consultant who will undertake tasks on behalf of AMwA on a part time basis. The Project Liaison will provide strategic input and support towards the implementation of the VCA programme in Tunisia. They will serve as ears and eyes on the ground; taking note of emerging trends in climate justice organizing, identifying advocacy opportunities and representing the organization in key national climate change policy processes and spaces, continuously updating the organization on these processes including monitoring and assessing risks. They will provide political, socio-economic and cultural contextualized and knowledge on climate justice, help grow AMwA’s networks, and from time to time, provide support for strategic activities.
