Bitamisi Henrietta Nyakato – Monitoring, Evaluation Learning Officer

Bitamisi is a well-seasoned Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning enthusiast with a 10-year work experience and 6-year MEL expertise in the NGO Sector. Bitamisi worked with TASO Uganda, Mariestopes International Uganda, Wageningen University of Research before joining Akina Mama Wa Afrika in 2021. She has interested herself and worked in the following thematic areas; Agriculture, Nutrition, HIV, Reproductive Health (family planning and safe motherhood) and Advocacy.  Her technical expertise includes setting up organizational Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Systems and data management (qualitative & quantitative). She has led teams in internal and external (Donor) reporting and accountability for Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MoFA), UK-Aid, DFID, USAID among others.  She is also a natural teacher that has identified and built capacity for organizational staff and stakeholders which has resulted in stronger PMEL cultures. She possesses hands-on skills in organizational change management using the Theory of Change and M&E participatory methods like Outcome harvesting, Parevol, Narrative assessment, Most significant change, FDGs. As a feminist, Bitamisi envisions a world where all organizations, governments, businesses, and institutions will use feminist data to make more inclusive and progressive decisions. She is reliable, dependable and works greatly with teams. Bitamisi is a proud member of the Uganda Evaluation Association.
